David Vest is usually backed by the rhythm section from the Paul deLay Band, one of the most celebrated units on the West Coast. In addition to Vest, deLay, and Northwest Pianorama, they've backed Pinetop Perkins, Willie "Big Eyes" Smith, Hubert Sumlin, Bo Diddley and many others.

Peter Dammann

guitar

Chicago-born Peter Dammann is probably the world's most seriously under-rated blues guitarist. He backed Paul deLay for nearly 20 years, recording several chart-topping CDs with the northwest harmonica legend.

Like David, Pete has also been featured on OPB's popular Art Beat series. The segment spotlighting him can be seen here.

Pete handles most of the band's bookings. He also serves as talent coordinator for the Waterfront Blues Festival on behalf of the Oregon Food Bank.

Jeff Minnick

drums and vocal

Jeff has played with everyone from Pinetop Perkins to Gary Primich. He's famous for the "Minnick Train" beat.

He wrote "This Place Has Changed," and he's also the main singer and songwriter for the Wasco Brothers.

They have a hot new CD.

Maybe you saw him on Austin City Limits, playing with Junior Brown, and wearing a suit.

Sorry, girls -- he's single.

Dave Kahl

Dave
bass

As Paul used to say, if you went to a blues gig you liked, sometime in the last 15 or 20 years, Kahl was probably playing bass on it.

Why not?

He's played all over the world, he's as solid as they come, and his heart's in his fingers.

His pals call him "Long Distance" Kahl, because he's on the road so much. He probably has more friends in more places than most people could imagine ... places like mygignet.com.
